There is absolutely no need to get a USB-equipped record player or phono stage - your existing record player and phono stage will do the job just fine! Also, the advantage of using your existing equipment (both analog and digital) is that the resulting transfer should almost by definition be of the sound quality you are used to hearing. Probably the only point I would like to make here is that the only equipment I deem absolutely necessary to make a good quality digital transcription of an LP is:
